Dundee midfielder Paul McGowan has admitted that the Championship has proved to be a much tougher league than he thought it would be.

There was me thinking our management team and squad would be fully prepared for the size of the challenge after last season's cup results.

Dundee 0-1 Dunfermline

Dundee 0-3 Ayr

Dundee 1-1 Queens

Queens 3-0 Dundee

This article paints a different picture to what a lot of people are seeing. McGowan, honest as always, admitting that he, and maybe others, have underestimated the job in hand will maybe take some of the heat off of JMcP. I've always thought that we had too much managerial and coaching experience here to be as tactically inept as some would suggest. It seems there's other factors at play that are influencing how many, if any, points we pick up on a match day. Boys like Marshall, McGhee, McDaid, Byrne, Todd & Hemmings all have experience of this league, I think Kerr, Hamilton, Forster & Mackie have played here too so we should've, as a squad, been well prepared for what we were to face but it seems not. Disappointing that it's taken so long to admit it.

It’s just words Cobra. He would be better saying the players are doing extra training sessions and working on set plays etc to gain advantage over teams....

If McGowan is saying that he's underestimating the Championship do you not think that's a show of honesty rather than empty words?.

JMP in the online Tele says there's been no inbetween this season, "we've either been really good or really bad". I've only missed 2 games this season but I must have missed the really good performances. Unfortunately I think he actually believes what he's saying. After the ict game, which was dreadful, he said there was nothing wrong with the tactics or the formation. We've had a few decent results but nothing we should be getting excited about. Not looking forward to today.

I was saying the same. Only game we've looked confident and in control.
