A great 3 points to stop the rot. For 60 minutes we played really well and were well worth our 4-1 lead, could have been more if it wasn’t for the Pars keeper. Hemmings, Johnson, McDaid, McGhee and Ke

Support were an embarrassment today. Booing whilst we kept the ball at 4-1. Booing our own player at 3-1. Toxic.

I have no words for how incompetent James McPake is.

Before the subs we looked good, bar the subs we win at a canter I think.

Agree and said as much to my Pars supporting mate after the match.

However we came very close to blowing a 4-1 lead in the last half hour of a match against ten men. That's unacceptable IMO.

Unconvincing, narrow victory for me I'm afraid.

59 minutes of complete dominance, 6 combined minutes of madness, and 25 minutes of nervousness (though we largely controlled the sway of things during this period) imo. Don't pretend you weren't pleasantly surprised at how good we were for the majority of the game, just like what I expected coming into today. Unfortunately, also as expected our old problems of basic mistakes and minds that drift at important moments showed up again. McPake really needs to find a way to sort this out within the players, they just forget how to play football at times. Subs were bad, I cannot deny, but 2 players went off injured so they weren't prepared. They really need to get a Plan B sorted out for situations like that though, had we not won there'd have been no excuse.

Plenty to be positive about, plenty still in desperate need to be fixed. I'm choosing (as always) to look at the positives, and despite the ending (which was sh*t and should have been avoided, not trying to pretend otherwise) there was plenty to be positive about from us.

All 5 McBlues chose not to attend today for the first time in years for reasons previously well versed by many fellow Dees on the forum ( and we all really enjoyed our non Dens day )

My personal Gripe is the lack of Entertainment on show over the last several seasons ... looking at the score and reading the posts from those who did go it looks like You all had a Great Day as well on the Entertainment front.

We All WON and now get to Enjoy the Analysis of VICTORY 😀

It was really thoughtful of the players and coaching staff / manager to make the last 30mins or so, so entertaining.

It was going to be a boring last half hour in the freezing cold while we saw out a comfortable victory but instead they decided to give us an exciting Christmas treat by  having us on the edge of our seats, watching matters unfold through our fingers. Thus ensuring both sets of players got applauded at the end by their fans.

DFC is such a considerate club.

I thought we edged it and were worth the points overall and yes I was pleasantly surprised at being 4-1 just after half time.

However we came scarily close to blowing all the good work with an unfathomable substitution, injury or not, that allowed the opposition right back into the game. You don't replace a wide player who's been causing a side all sorts of problems with an under performing central midfielder when you have another wide player available at the time - baffling. That aspect of today's game however I was not surprised at.

Totally unprofessional and insulting to fans for them to stroll about doing oles after the sending off. With over half an hour to go we should have pressed on at pace to increase the lead.Do these guys not realise who pays their wages?

Rating the players:

Hamilton 2

Kerr 8

Marshall 7

McGhee 7

Forster 3

Gowser 8

Dorrans 7

Robertson 6

Mcdaid 7

Johnson 7

Hemmings 7

Byrne 2

Meekings 5

Nelson 5

Forster needs to just clear the ball. Too many mistakes while Hamilton must have osteoporosis letting those 2 shots in. Terrible goalkeeping.

All the same marks, as would have gone with apart from Meekings, I would have given him 3.

Byrne couldn't give a f**k, on a Big contract for FOUR years, plus a decent signing on Fee, he's loving being at BUTLINS, taking the PHISH.

What was his signing on fee, boy?

What does Meekings bring to the club. The guy is absolutely crap. Never been the same since his long injury. Was never great before that. The Pars scored just after he came on. This is not the first time either that he has screwed up. In general, we seem to lapse after subs come on.

Meekings and possibly Forster can go in January as far as I am concerned.

Well, Dundee faced Ayr United for the second time in as many Days.
While the previous game was a scrappy affair from both side, this game was not. This game was entertaining and full of an attacking Dundee side which we have not seen for a long time. There was not one Dundee player who let the side down tonight and if this is the things to come, let it continue!
Hemmings opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he was played through with just the keeper to beat.
Dorrans pounced on a mistake seconds from the end, and played a lovely little ball to Crankshaw who made no mistake, and slammed the ball past the keeper to make it 2- 0. Three points thank you very much!
      Full-time: Dundee 2 - 0 Ayr United

The Dee travelled south to Palmerston Park and this weekend championship game against Queen of the South.
The game was a scrappy affair with terrible weather conditions. The Dee had most of the possession but couldn't find the target in the first half. The second have started pretty much the same until Jordan Forster header hit the back of the net.
Queen of the South 0 - 1 Dundee

The Dark Blues first league win of this year against Partick Thistle today.
Hemmings with a Double, first goal scored in the 23rd minute and again in the 34th minute.
Much better performance from the team today and a clean sheet.

The Dark Blues can feel lucky that they came away from this game with a point.
Ex-dee Bobby Linn opened the scoring in the 37th minute when he beat Hamilton from outside the box.
Dundee didn't even huff and puff in this game, but the Dee equalised through Kane Hemmings in the 61st minute, when his header hit the bottom left of Gaston.
      Full-time: Arbroath 1 - 1 Dundee

Dundee beaten at home against Queen of the south.
Dobbie opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a superb goal past Hamiltons righ hand side.
Johnson equalised with a fantastic solo effort in which he left McCrorie no chance to save as it bulleted past him from distance.
Then 31 seconds later, a mistake by Forster gave Dobbie his second and the 3 points for QOS.
      Dundee 1 - 2 QOS
