Caught a bit of him on the radio earlier, repeating his courier ‘article’

Lack of pizazz and energy around Dens , owners are losing interest etc etc nothing to substantiate any of it

Oh and the boy Ogren is the saviour of all things football 😂

He loves to stir the pot. Some of what he says is correct but he does it in a way to try and wind folk up, and it works.

United have had a good season so far and that's based on a huge budget in comparison to anything we have had with our American owners. I'm happy with how tim Keyes invests. Sensible levels and not accruing debt. He says nothing about them losing interest,  but it might spur a response from Keyes and nelms about the stadium.

I generally just ignore what he comes away with. Only read his article because of this thread, otherwise wouldn't have bothered.

Edit to add that he forgets to mention anything about the investment we have made in our youth set up and the link up with strachan. There is plenty to be positive about at dens just now but we could do better in certain areas. Stadium info would be a start

Eh know Jim pretty well, and he’s a good lad, but is a sh*t-stirrer and an attention-seeker of the highest order, and he’s drawn the ire of both sides of the city at times.

His article is just another example of this,  it’s probably best not to give him the attention he craves from it.

I disagree with your point about the investment in the youth setup though. We’re currently in the third tier of the SFA’s Project Brave initiative, alongside Queens Park, Morton and Cowdenbeath, and behind the likes of Ayr United, Ross County and Inverness.

The fruits meanwhile have invested enough to be granted access to the top tier of project brave. This is an embarrassment for our club, and appointing Gordon Strachan is nothing more than a token effort so long as our youths are honing their skills against teams like Morton and Cowdenbeath.

Your possibly right about the investment in youth set up but its not as if we are ignoring it. I don't know much about project brave if I'm honest and what it means to be in the top tier of it.

Means we get minimal funding from the SFA and that our youth teams are playing week-in week-out against the bottom of the barrel, rather than testing themselves against the top teams in the country.

Has the domino effect of the best local talent joining the dabs instead of us, as the parents and kids know that they invest more heavily in their youth structure, and that they’ll be coming up against the best in the country every week.

Sickens me to say it, but their seems to be an actual cohesive plan across the road, meanwhile we just seem to amble along doing the structural side of things half-heartedly. The appointment of Strachan for me, is symptomatic of this, yeah it’s great to have a club legend and a leading figure of the game in the door, but ultimately, what sort of track record does he have at youth team level? He may or may not be doing a good job for us, time will tell. But we only asked him on the off chance that he would take the job, what was the plan if Strachan didn’t fancy it? The answer I suspect if there wasn’t one.

If a club our size should be in the upper tiers, is someone asking the question of the board as to why were not up there. Do they think it's that important?
