Done a bit of research on ICT after watching that today and had a suspicion that their stats would point to something.

Including today, they've scored first in 10 of their 20 league matches, conceded first in 9 and had one 0-0 draw at Dens in August.

In the games they've  conceded first, they have 1 win, 1 draw and 7 defeats.

In the games they've scored first, they've won all 10.

Therefore, in 17 of their 19 games this season, the team that scores first wins. That's mental and probably frustrates the life out of their fans. Remarkable they've actually only conceded one equaliser all season (against Alloa). At no other point in any game has a team equalized against them this season.

What this means for the opposition is basically, if you dont start well, you're in trouble.

We were 2 down in 24 minutes. Normally, in a situation like that, you're annoyed but you still have hope. You know its early days but if you get the next goal its game on. But it didnt feel like that today. It genuinely felt like it was game over. I cant remember ever thinking that in this league so early into a game. It was weird.

It meant the second half was all a bit pointless. Some wont like this but I honestly dont think we played that badly in the second half. We didn't look like scoring but that was never gonna happen anyway. I didnt expect us to get a sniff against that defence. Better teams than us would fair the same way.

I see some have accused the team of having no heart based on todays performance. For me thats a really lazy thing to say. We started poorly against the one team the league you cannot afford a bad start against. And that was enough.

I jus really hope McPake was aware of these stats.

But not as lazy as some of those masquerading as Dundee FC players today.

It was atrocious, gutless, heartless and lazy from first minute to last.

No, I'm just fairly intelligent and don't struggle to find words to describe that kind of performance. Was going to say sh**e but it doesn't really cover it for me.

What locution or locutions are you specifically making reference to pray tell?

I've accused of us lacking heart and desire today. We lost every battle and came off second best in nearly every tackle/2nd ball.

I don't need to look up ICT's stats for confirmation of what I saw, so take exception to the 'lazy' comment. We neither fought hard enough, worked hard enough to create space, nor did we look physical enough to knock them out of their stride today. That's on us, not ICT.

The game is full of stats these days and most of them are window dressing.

Until they play us again

It’s a reality that when teams are struggling for a result, they normally get it against us.

We are a disorganised shambles, which is the biggest insult that you can direct at a Pro Manager and his staff.

The shambles doesn't start at the manager and his staff, comes from higher up.

They were better than us at everything  today. Shame Robbo did not want to speak to us re the managers job last summer.

We were like boys who had just been thrown jerseys. Every pass forward went to a guy with his back to goal.

Appalling to watch and I for one am wasting my Saturdays travelling from out of town to watch this. At these prices its am insult to our fans.

If they are playing to instruction then its a worry. Not once did we get off our seats apart from leaving.

Good post.  The second half was slightly better but only because ICT sat back and let us play a little but apart from a couple of half chances we created very little.  It was almost just too easy for ICT.

There was one point late in the game when we broke quickly ball went to Hemmings and he ran, looked up and only saw white shirts, all nine outfield Dundee players were miles behind the ball like they never believed they would score and therefore didn't make the effort.

Otherwise there was a bit of puffing but it was a miserable performance.

What's happened to our management TEAM!  Looks like we have a manager and a few hangers on. Every other team we play have 2 or 3 chatting to the manager, like Ict today. We have JMP standing like a robot on his own and Nichol and McKay no where to be seen. Even with Hartley and McCann, they were constantly speaking to their assistants who were in turn passing on to the players. Before the game Nichol was kicking the ball to our strikers who were shooting. Is that really what we are paying him for?
