The demise of Scottish football has been predicted since the 1950s ... hhowever let's look at facts. Hibs and Hearts getting best core support for 50 years, Aberdeen crowds as good as they were in the glory years under Fergie ... and beyond that things are fairly stable.  Add in the ugly sisters and scottish football on a per capita basis is the best attended in Europe.

There are issues as to how sustainable the current position is especially with the money gap between the sisters and the rest but the game is ok and clubs cut their cloth and all that.

The game would benefit from a healthy and well run Dundee in the Top division rather than accies, farmers, livi

Let's face it. Scottish football is screwed! Apart from the Bigot Bros if you add up the attendance at the top flight games you wouldn't fill the Emirates, Etihad, Old Trafford etc with how many fans go to a game these days. I feel that there won't be many clubs around in 10-15 years.

Why are we comparing Scotland to a England though?  Completely different countries.

Surreydee, we all share that view, I personally have a little bit of envy towards the farmers, not on the basis of the manager or the players, but more related to how that club has and continues to be run and the facilities that they have, it is almost the model of stability for clubs outside of the Edinburgh / Aberdeen to use as a guide.

Sold there ground to a supermarket, got a brand new purpose build stadia reflective of their crowds 10K, health acoustics for a decent atmosphere and training facilities that could be used by the community. They will never set the heather on fire, however as proved in recent times get a rub of the green in the cup and you could add some silverware.

We as we know, have gone from crisis to crisis and there is an uncertainty about the future "Again"

As was posted above, Scottish top flight football gets twice the population share than the English league. It has had the highest in Europe for a few years now.

But aye, Hamilton Accies should be outselling Man Utd.

Would be interesting to see the table without the Old Firms crowds included but agreed, it's non comparable to England with it's massive population and top product.
