Anyone been following this story? He's apparently been suspended by the BBC over this rant about Rangers.

Yes, missed it at first, wondered where he'd gone, but caught up with the 'detail' at the weekend, in a newspaper article.

The interview 'danced around' the specifics a bit, and it sounded like Kenny McIntyre was close to shI**ing himself when Stewart mentioned 'the name'!

The story I read, about the Sky Sports interview with Morelos being "inaccurately translated" (by adding the word "Celtic" to the comment about racial abuse....the player didn't mention any club), is interesting....it appears unclear if anyone at Sky Sports actually read/listened to the translation (apparently done by a 3rd party) before broadcasting it....but the article I read was also hinting that the same individual Stewart criticised might in some way have influenced the incorrect version....and then there's the hilarious Morelos car incident!

The article also mentioned that, in reporting Sky Sports to OFCOM, Celtic were the only body highlighting that Morelos also deserves an apology, for someone possibly implicating him in wrongful accusations. Not even his own club has (yet) asked for such an apology, which seems curious, considering how quick they usually are to become 'indignant' about trivia.

Stewart may have been too impetuous in throwing 'a name' on the table, which could yet get him more trouble than just his suspension from BBC, but he's never minced his words, in his scathing criticisms of Levein either.

Then there's the contrast between this & the long-running BBC/Rangers fallout, which no-one seems interested in resolving.

It is interesting though that Stewart has been allowed to rip Hearts a new one for seasons now and basically savage Craig Levein and the BBC never batted an eye - in fact they encouraged it week after week.

Turn a  similar, but less sustained attack on rangers and it's see ya later time.

Any wonder that I basically ignore the rest of Scottish Football now?

These incidents, and the inconsistency in reporting & reaction, serve to remind us just how much 'forelock tugging' still goes on behind the scenes of some sectors of the Scottish sports media, as soon as the OF are involved....perhaps one half slightly more than the other?

He is spot on. He should be applauded for it, instead BBC Scotland shat the bed. He perhaps shouldn't have mentioned names to be sly about it as everyone knew what he would have been getting at, but other than that he told the truth. Kenny McIntyre would quite happily have had the ground swallow him whole then and there!

The way the Scottish media fawn over the a**e cheeks is boak inducing. Maybe because I am relatively young but it seems to be getting worse, almost a parody of itself. Michael Stewart is far from everyone's cup of tea but he seems to be the only one in the Scottish football media to question anything in regards too the Glasgow based business partners, other than the usual brain dead bin dwellers like Pat Bonnar, Chick Young, etc who think they are the greatest things in the Universe and know next to nothing outside of them.
