Alloa On Tuesday

As gutted at todays postponement as i have been at any defeat this season. Momentum looking good, double header of winnable home games on the horizon and a lot of that grounded to a halt with a fixture pile up making things difficult and every result today going against (always worth it when Utd lose but still.)

All this means that the sides in the play off spots have an awful lot of games to play before the play offs even happen.

But the question im worried about...

Is this Tuesday already in doubt? As that would be a real kick in the balls.

50/60% chance of rain tonight through to tomorrow lunchtime then nothing until later in the week. As long as that's accurate then I think we'll be be ok with some remedial work to the affected areas. Fingers crossed.🤞

At least all the teams around us have now played the same number of games so we have a good picture of where we really are.  Despite the season being very much full of ups and downs, we're up there with a fair crack of getting 2nd and I'd be very surprised if we didn't at least make 4th now.  2nd place is a huge advantage and must be our target.

Pushing the Part Time sides into 2 games a week will be a stretch for them and should on paper give us an advantage, add to that, a deeper pool with the returning of Ness, Kerr & McGee from injury will give us an added boost & flexibility. Saturday may have been to early for McGee however real contender to come in a fill the hole left by Callaghan in front of the back 3 / 4 for the Alloa game.

Good conditions forecast for tomorrow so hopefully the game is nailed-on to go ahead.

I'm more worried about the opposition. Their recent away form is outstanding...

Dunfermline 1-3 Alloa
Queens 2-3 Alloa
ICT 1-1 Alloa
Morton 4-4 Alloa

And remarkably, they've scored in their last 20 away league games going back to the start of 2019 so a clean sheet looks very unlikely and we'll probably need at least a couple of goals if we're going to win this one.

The only occasion in their last 25 away league games where Alloa failed to score was in Dingwall in January 2019 and County of course went on to be champions.

Quite an amazing stat really. Has to end sometime though 🤞🤞🤞

Some stats on Alloa and they deserve all the plaudits that comes there way .
our performance at Alloa a few months back was easily our best this season - hopefully more of the same tomorrow . The key is to work hard and smother them , don’t let their midfield get a hold on the game then impose ourselves on them

3-1
