Worth remembering that the ar** fell out of the transfer market back then so we were affected by external factors, not just our own decisions, and Caniggia paid for himself with the Rangers transfer so we have no reason so regret that. That transfer alone was a marketing masterpiece. It was all the dross we signed that nearly put us under.

We paid him £10k a week wages, which was a lot of money for a club of our size, but the £1m transfer fee (I'm guessing) covered the cost of CC's time in Dundee.
