When Will We Be Mathematically Safe?

Forgive my stupidity guys, but my old brain can't work it out. It turns to mush as I keep thinking in 'my glass half empty' sort of way we can still be caught.

Everytime I start to try and work it out I panic and give up.

Could someone please put my mind at rest. I keep thinking back to the last time we went down after allegedly being safe, apart from a catastrophe. Which eventually did befall us. (Are you reading this Derek Soutar and co).

In theory, another 10 points (not including our goal difference which is pretty good) will have us safe.

In practice, I reckon 5 will have us top 6 and that will make us safe.

As things stand, we need 10 points to guarantee safety but that will go down every time the 11th place team drops points.

Even if we had a disastrous April losing all four scheduled games and Motherwell won all three of their remaining pre-split games, we'd still go into the post-split fixtures with a six point advantage and superior goal difference, so we realistically have nothing to worry about.
