Love to believe that Mr G....however historically our family silver has always been available at knockdown prices...

*** forbid, but If Bain does go in the summer I can't see PH being very happy about it. It would go against everything he's preached about. Building a team for the future etc.

He might be appeased if he's given a fair chunk of the fee to spend.

Everything you see about Scott Bain tells you that he could soon be playing at a higher level - of that I do not have any doubt. Problem is that he has only played something like 19 competitive games for us and I wouldn't be paying out big money for him on that basis. He really needs to stay where he is and prove himself over a longer period. All imo of course.

I think the board will realise how important it is for us to have a settled squad for next season. The league will be much more difficult next year so if we sell our quality players half way through the summer and are having to panic buy then I think we could be in trouble.

If we keep the core of our squad together and bring in some better additions then we will be looking at top six next year. If we sell and have to gamble on bringing in other players to replace them then there is a danger of being in a relegation battle.

If we get decent offers for our players I expect them to go. However hopefully it won't be a fire sale.

If decent money is brought in and Hartley is given the budget he needs to improve us then it shows we are moving in the right direction imo.

Got to agree with this. We shouldnt even look at anything below this figure.

Add another season to his contract ASAP to put a signal out that we are building a side not ripping one apart so if anyone wants our best players unlike years gone by we will need to get their true value !

Based on how much he is costing us, which is nothing compared to most players usually worth £1m plus I would add a couple years on his contract and give him a pay rise. High enough to keep him but not too high that we can't raise again, maybe even twice to keep him there.
