I think Hartley will release quite a few lads this summer.

Letheren, gadz, dyer, davo, McBride, Boyle, Harris, Heffernan, Clarkson, Benny, Reid are all out of contract and I'd be surprised if any were retained.

I'd also imagine Roberts will be punted along with some 2nd year pros.

Hopefully some of the young blades will be ready to step in to add to meggatt and loy.

Still quite a big turnaround of staff.

Meggatt deal still hasn't been confirmed. I'd go with that list. Hopefully Stephen McGinn & Irvine get new deals in the summer and stay. Personally I would try and keep Harris although with him still being contracted to Hibs might be out our hands. I've heard a few names of players mentioned we are apparently interested in signing but as always until anything is confirmed could just be nonsense.

Edit to say Jimmy Mac also out of contract and I think he would get another deal.

The amount of game time he's been getting I'd be surprised if he wasn't offered another contract. The word on the street is that PH has very little sentiment when it comes to this kind of thing though so we might get a few shocks.

We were talking about this at the game on Saturday and agreed with the names you'd mentioned. We thought Letheren would be offered a new deal but would probably turn it down because he'd be looking for more game time which with the form of Bain he isn't going to get.

Also thought Ferry and the Tank might be offered deals to leave and that the surprise release would perhaps be Irvine (who along with McAlister deserves a new deal) because of the emergence of Cammy Kerr and that his wage could be better utilised elsewhere.

The club is in a great position in the summer to kick on. Of the original 11 names you mentioned only 1 is in the team so it won't have an adverse effect on the starting 11. Unfortunately Ferry and the Tank have contributed very little to what was hoped for.

My instinct is:

Out of Contract - Released/Depart

Kyle Letheren

Gary Irvine (may be offered a year but will find more secure future elsewhere)

Kyle Benedictus

Willie Dyer

Iain Davidson
Kevin McBride

David Clarkson

Jim McAllister (same as Irvive)

Jamie Reid

Kostadin Gadzhalov

Alex Harris (loan expiry)

Paul Heffernan

Martin Boyle

New Deals

Stephen McGinn

Negotiate Release

Phil Roberts

Simon Ferry (if he doesn't continue to show comeback signs)

That would leave us with:

Goalkeepers

Scott Bain

Defenders

Thomas Konrad

James McPake

Paul McGinn

Cammy Kerr

Midfielders

Kevin Thomson

Paul McGowan

Stephen McGinn

Simon Ferry (maybe)

Attacking

Gary Harkins

Greg Stewart

Rory Loy

Craig Wighton

Dylan Carreiro

Luka Tankulic

Quite a few of the guys who've played a bit longer will likely have accumulated to top flight wages in the time they have been there and it's a call between seeing if we can do better or we should hold on. I would keep Irvine and McAllister but just think Hartley will look for some younger blood. It might be that we'll be looking at a reduced squad to fund compensation for a couple of players.

That looks pretty radical on the face of it but on that released list, we've only had two that have been consistent first choice picks. Our 'best 11' is not really being lost with all them going (apart from Irvine at left back).

I think I read a PH quote recently that he didn't expect there to be such a large player turnaround as last close season.  On that basis your list does look a bit radical.  I think McAllister, Irvine and couple of others will still be here next season.

harry94 do you have any idea what the wages for players are? It's always been a mystery to me. Is there some sort of accepted standard for all the top division players? £500 per week basic and how do bonuses work? I'm not at all interested in the specific details of our team, but I wondered if there was a basic starting off point. I found a website http://nareystoepoker.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/comparing-scottish-clubs-wages.htmlwhich gave some indications. do you think it is accurate?

If you look at last years accounts it should have player budget. May give a start.
