I thought Lovell's In the Air was genius. Any other memorable chants other the years?

“Thank you very much for Tommy Coyne” (to the Roses TV advert tune).

Eh mind, as a very young lad, in days of yore, attending the Dundee Reserve Game.

Every other Sat, big crowds went to Dens as no so many could afford to travel away.

Absolutely loved they games The Dundee Fanatics/Funsters/Die Hards, were Braw.

The banter was generally light, loud, but funny. But I mind the crowd was given the

opposition a real hard time & one one of the players, who probably did put in some,

hard dirty tackles, was really targeted. The usual Sweary Insults were thrown at him.

But one guy tho' shouted at him when he got the Ball something a bit mair personal...

In a lone voice, he shouted oot, something along the lines ...

"Kent Yir Mither. She was a Pirate. And She Wid Ride Anybody"

It never really made much sense to me ... But it hit the mark.

Especially when the rest of the crowd took up the chant and

added their ain personal bits !! Eh'd nae idea whit it wis awe

aboot. Still dinnae see the sea connection...But Happy Days:chaplin:

It wisnae a popular chant that ever caught on. But every time there

happens to be a Sea Faring Movie on TV, I  think "Pirates"...And my

mind goes back to childhood & the game, nearly 70 years back :lol2:
