No way he will be at Dens

Unless Hearts give him a massive pay off.

Hope I’m wrong, but can’t see Berra signing up for £700 per week

I think our new wage level is going to prevent exciting new additions.

If we can't keep Meekings, how the hell are we going to satisfy Berra?

I'm expecting Hearts to walk the league but you never know. The authorities battered us with a 25-point penalty 10 years ago and our squad was down to the bare bones but we responded with a record unbeaten run.

Dees come together during a crisis so you can never write us off. If anyone is going to win the Championship with a threadbare squad it will be Dundee.

All teams will be in the same boat bar Hearts by the looks of it, although they have already asked their players to take cuts....

We need to be out the blocks early in the season, get the fans onside ASAP....

loan signings from Celtic could be crucial.

27 game season makes it more of a leveller with Hearts....

It’s more worrying that we offered him a contract-He was either injured or sh!te.
Club captain! it sums why we are in such a mess on the pitch last 2 seasons.

Something I can't fathom either.  A liability in our defence until Berra pitched up and even then he was distinctly average.  If the club think he was worthy of an extension or that he was one of the best options out there, I would be a bit worried.  Don't let the door hit you on the way out laddie.

If you're Hearts, you would be off your nut to let Berra anywhere near a dark blue shirt next season.

1. Their fans hate us right now. 2. We're their only realistic title challengers on paper, 3. He transformed us into serious promotion candidates overnight a few months ago.

Hope I'm wrong but I think there is next to no chance the big man will be back at Dens for this 27-game campaign.

Agree mate, the only way i can see him ending up here is if Hearts pay him off then he joins us a free agent. If not he will probably go on loan else where, you'd think he'd get a premier league club.

Apparently he is is keen to come back but would think we would struggle to get him with our pay cuts and Hearts won't be doing us any favours! They might be easier to deal with over Wighton as seem to want rid of him but Neilson coming in could change that if he rates him.

It is now really important that Jordan McGhee stays and Marshall or we are pretty much needing a new defence.

We won’t get Berra back just now and will plan without him . Neilson will have him back training with squad initially before making a decision

I’m told Berra and Budge had an irreconcilable fallout and that him and Neilson don’t get on either. He’s currently negotiating to walk away.

I don't know what Berra's career aspirations are but a player/coach role may be attractive to a player of his age

McGhee is staying, apparently he was the second one to agree to a wage cut after Gowser.

Not a bad shout especially with JN leaving, it would give us a big boost if he signs and reassure some of us that that things aren't as bad as some of the rumours.

Difference is Berra has made his money. Only interested in playing football week in week out now.

True. He knows McPake loves him. He knows Dees love him. He might not be driven by cash.

I just feel as though he is the key if we're going to win the title, and I suspect Hearts probably know what he brings to our team so they will either keep him on their books and stick him in the reserves or send him down south on loan.

The hope is they just want get him off their books and will release him. We'll just need to wait and see.
