My View On The Aberdeen Game

Recommended Posts

Some of you are no doubt aware that I had to change my travel plans to travel to Dundee for last Saturday's game.

I must admit that prior to the game I thought that we were going to be well beaten by Aberdeen and at half time I saw nothing to change my view.

However thanks to an improved second half performance and an opportunist goal we managed to earn a draw. The point we gained may prove invaluable in our attempt to finish in the top six at the split.

Yesterday I had to again alter my travel plans due to gale force winds being forecast for tomorrow and I had to end my holiday in Dundee a day early travel back to Islay this morning.

Whilst I was in the Tesco Kingsway store this morning I bumped into the Dundee physio and I remarked that we were very fortunate to get a draw with Aberdeen last Saturday.

He told me that the team had played exceptionally well considering they had not played a first team game for three weeks whilst Aberdeen had played during that period.

This is a very valid point and something that the supporters often forget. Players can train all week but there is no substitute for match practice.
