Met him in a hotel the day Chesterfield were playing West Ham in a League Cup match (we were at a business conference).....talked to me and my fellow Dee, offered us a pint and then once we had a few me and mate gate crashed his pre-match meeting with his directors (I know...I know....) to tell them what a legend he was...hat trick v Koln, Milan, etc, etc.   The directors were great to us too and well impressed at the respect we had for Johnny D.

My old man started going to Dens around 1962 and has always said that John Duncan was his favourite player.

That team of the early 70s should have won more than the one League Cup by all accounts. Some forward line.

Aye your right, we should have won more, but we always got Celtic in the semi's ! Apart from winning the LC in '73, the SC in 74 run was something else.
