Luka Tankulic and Simon Ferry look set to return to the Dundee first-team fold.

Good news for the Tank fans, he looks like to return to first team action along with Simon Ferry whom have both been out of action with injury.

Luka Tankulic and Simon Ferry look set to return to the Dundee first-team fold. While many of the Dark Blues’ senior players have been handed a few days off this week, the duo have been hard at work at the club’s Riverside training base. It’s certainly been no international break for those two, according to manager Paul Hartley.Tankulic has been out since the club’s last-minute 2-1 defeat at Ross County back in September. He was taken off at half-time with a foot problem. An X-ray two weeks back revealed no lasting damage and he has since returned to full training in the absence of the rest of squad.Ferry, too, has had little luck on the injury front.Having been sidelined for much of the start of the season, he returned to the side and showed glimpses of form during the Dark Blues’ four-game losing streak. But the midfield man, signed on a free from English League One side Portsmouth this summer, then contracted bronchitis and was administered a dose of antibiotics by medics.Having put the virus to bed and returned to light training, he then took an ankle knock which has held the Dundonian’s return back. But the manager has revealed he has his sidelined players working harder than ever while others might have their feet up for a day or two.“We have had to almost give them another pre-season,” said the gaffer.“Simon has been very unlucky since he came here and Luka, too, has struggled with injuries. That’s the main reason we are yet to see the best of those two.“With the international break, we have had the opportunity to give them two weeks of solid work.“Hopefully, that should see them back available for selection.”

Good to hear. I'm convinced Tankulic will come good and is worth a spot on the bench. I've been impressed with what I have seen of Ferry so far and he has been an option that has been missed the last few weeks.

I just wonder if his recent form was down to him having an injury or just lack of confidence. I also wonder if it could be down to him relocating and having trouble settling in?

Fitba's a confidence game, and Tank's lacking a bit o confidence (in meh humble). One thing he disnae lack is talent and commitment. I've got a feeling we havenae seen the best o him by a long chalk and cannae wait til we do. A couple o goals and the laddie will flourish. Feed the Tank!!!

I wonder what it is about Tank that has the most of us "wishing he comes on form" rather than taking the "he's useless!" tack?

Weird, huh?  :)

Maybe it's the way he played during the pre season. He scored a few peaches and the way he ran up to the dugout after he scored against MC maybe helped make him a fan fav.

Possibly, but then I never saw any of the pre-season games live, and *I* have that feeling too!

Actually it was in the Hearts game at Dens when he scored, he ran over to Harkins. yeah he does have that 'I give you that feeling vibe' about him.

Y'can see what he tries to do every time he gets the ball. The German game allows ya that time  to control and run. In Scotland, as soon as the ball's played there's 3 guys on top o ya immediately. Any time I've seen him play this season there was two boys with him at all time. I reckon other managers see him as a threat somehow, and man mark him. Thought he was unlucky a couple o times in the cup game wi that shower across the road. I think Hartley's giving him the time tae adapt. Thomas Konrad has hit the ground running and I think it'll be hard tae hold on tae him next season. Hopefully Tank make's himself heard soon. I really rate the laddie. Feed the Tank!!!
