Weekend of 4Th/5Th April

Recommended Posts

Had a ridiculous good piece of fortune tonight. Backed Luton to lose 3-2 at home for the third game running at 100/1. It came in thanks to a goal in the fifth minute of injury time. Hopefully it's a sign of a good weekend.

I have a good feeling about this treble... West Brom, Bolton and Aberdeen. Three home bankers on paper but you never know.

Anyone else got a punt lined up?

The Carlsberg Double for me.. County and the Dee both to win @ 13/1 on Sky Bet. £20 on :)

Going to have to copy this bet. I would absolutely love a Carlsberg weekend. The Derry conquers the Highlands and the fruits go into proper meltdown.

When I was a serious betting man (horses) I remember doing a "daft" bet on the ootsider of 8 runners, in NH race.

No surprisingly,  after one circuit, wi' all horses still standing, meh horse wis nowhere to be seen.

The going wis real heavy that day, so I wisnae too surprised when the the two leaders fell.

But with aboot four fences to go, I started to take a wee bit more notice , when the two new leaders fell.

You'll see whit's coming .......With only three contenders left (my horse wisnae even in the picture) each of them fell at consecutive fences.

By this time meh horse, left on it's own was barely walking in the heavy going ........but somehow the jockey managed to get it over the fences and the winning line.

That was many years ago, and although I dinnae mind the details, I remember the joy I felt of picking up an (undeserved) big win.

So apologies Cobra for my extendended story, which your piece o' good luck brought to mind.

Good Luck, disnae very rarely favours the "brave and the daft" ...... SO WELL DONE ON YOUR GOOD FORTUNE :)
