Don't Feed The Trolls - What You Can Do About Them!

Rate this question

I know this might be stating the obvious when I say this, it's a forum and it is meant for people creating topics for other members to reply to them in the hope creating interesting conversations. This will work most of the time, but now and then you will have people who will disrupt these topics with trolling or unrelated posts and that is just the nature of the beast (Why when I see this, I just think of UTD? Hmm).

There are a few things that you can do, but in reality they actually just cause more issues in the long run.

  1. Tangies: You can give another member a 'Tangy' if you feel they're trolling the forum (But this can be misused) and you only get a certain amount of 'Tangies' to use per day.
  2. Rate User: Visit their profile page and give a user a rating you think they deserve for their content on the site.
  3. Report Member: You can report a member if you believe that their comments in posts are nothing more than spam. Moderators will take your report comments and the members post into account when making a decision.
  4. Ignore User: We believe this and Report Member' is pretty much the route we believe everyone should take against people who spam. We have made this easy to do by adding people to your ignore list in your settings.

Best advice we can give our members is this: Don't feed the trolls!
