I'm No Quite Sure Why I Bothered Going To Bed Last Night: The Big Day Has Arrived

Recommended Posts

As a long term insomniac, I go to bed, with little or no hope, of a good night's sleep !!

Last night however, I hit a new low. I'm not sure I got any sleep...Got up before 5.00am.

The big day has finally arrived for DFC ...The Club, the Manager, the Players & us Fans.

Jings, Lads & Lasses (& players) I hope none of you feel quite as nervous as me today.

Realistically, regardless of what Killie  Mgr. and their players, pundits & bookies believe,

DFC have today, a real opportunity to win promotion. And maybe even do a win in style.

Can it all go wrong? Of course it can. But at this time, let's keep the positivity to the fore.

Today on here (if possible) lets all get right behind Our Club & Our Team. Let them know.

We could not be in a better position....We've seen what the opposition have had to offer.

And we dealt with them...With Grit, Skill, Determination Fearlessly and with Fight & Flair.

Could it go wrong? Yes of course it could. But we're the Form Team on the ascendancy.

We should have nothing to fear from Kilmarnock or their "Plastic Pich" Let's Do It DFC:chaplin:

(Part of the reason for may re-introducing this topic, is to prepare myself for the worst)

If it does all go wrong, rather than feel "let down" (Know I'll take it very badly) take hope

from the fact, that in the past few weeks, it looks possible, that DFC with JMP & players.

may have finally got their act together. None of us want to see ourselves facing another

season in  Championship. But if it comes to that, we are one year wiser &  more mature.

But to finish on a positive note...Were taking a lead to Rugby Park ... Let's finish the Job:bouncy:

C'mon the Mighty Dark Blue ... You Can & Will Do ... The Time is Now ... WE LOVE DFC

HOPE JMP, GIVES EACH PLAYER...THAT PHOTO OF CHARLIE CELEBRATING HIS GOAL :excited:

And that's what it should mean to every DFC player who dons the Dark Blue Jersey Tonight.

(Just in case DFC Players don't have pic of CA on Dressing Room Door, please put it up here)

Common sense says folk shouldn't get in such a state about a football match. Other life priorities should come first and temper such anxieties. These difficult Covid times should mean a football match, even one of such significance, pales in comparison. But whilst these things matter to any sane football fan the real situation is that all of this is smothered by an irrational obsession when it comes to your team playing in a game like tonights.

You cant wait for the game to start but dread the very same thing. Stomach is in a turmoil you just want it over with the correct result. I even have thoughts of going out for a long walk, only returning after the game to look up the score on the computer covering the screen and only revealing the score gradually left to right. It is a form of madness I know (I never felt like this as a younger man even on similar occasions; I think the relegation day present at Livi was the start of this nonsense).

I will start to watch the game but may end up as with the win v Hearts switching over when they scored and flicking backwards and forwards until our third goal then relaxing and 'enjoying'.  It is all a pent up desire for success for OUR club. I really envy those who can enjoy such occasions and be philosophical about the result.

C'mon the Dee. Give the result we all want and deserve.

Troodee, it's NOT just a case of ...  "There's a lot in your post I can relate to"

It's a case of every single word phrase, comment & paragraph, are hitting home to me. And I'm sure it's a true reflection of the pain & torture we are all feeling just now. Being a Fitba Fan/Supporter/Follower, is no something you can just "dabble" in noo & again (although it might work a bit better & easier for some) It can become an integral part of oor every day life ....And in times like this, it seems to occupy every single minute.

I'm no quite sure why that is the case. Because as you pointed out above, there are much more important & serious issues happening all around us....Health being one. But even without coming too serious, personally, I've got a great deal of other things to occupy my time & thoughts (even allowing my age & capability) but fitba & especially news around DFC take up a big part of it.

Aye, it is times like this, that you realise, DFC is never far away from oor thoughts.

It must all be around not only the football, but the memories & past that go with it.

Whatever outcome tonight DFC Lads & Lasses, take care of yourself/friends/family.

Dundee, you've already proved to yourelves & us, you are more than good enough.

SO GO OUT THERE TONIGHT AND DO YOUR BEST AGAIN....WE ARE BEHIND YOU:chaplin:

"Have to go now Nurse Cobra & Nurse Chomp are coming roond with oor Medication" :excited:

I’m travelling up to Dundee to watch the game in a pub with my son- this morning all I want to do is watch it on my own in dark locked room where I can scream in privacy.

Whatever happens tonight ...

I'm sure, DFC, Manager, Players (as well as John Nelms & Tim Keyes) will read again sometime,  the threads on the DBF  and be reminded just how much Love & Potential Fan Support there is for Our Great Club, Dundee...

Thank you both again....For your continued support :happyyes:

Maybe this is the night, we can pay you back...DFC:chaplin:

Out of all the unimportant things in life, football is the most important buddy.
