Couldn't really have asked for a better 1st game - at home against a bottom 6 side.  Hopefully get Celtic when they're still not settled and who knows with the Hibees?

Agree HK...Widnae want to be thinking defeat in the first home game, before the New Season has even started. I  accept it could be the case, that every game, whitever the opposition, we'll be fighting hard to pick up all points.

But facing St Mirren, & No the "Big Boys" at least gives us an even chance of a victory

Yet again united get the 2 guaranteed home derbies. I remember when Eddie Thompson sat on the fixtures committee and united would invariably get the 2 derbies before the split. A derby is probably worth £200,000+.

5 games more at home with a crowd of about 7k more than they would normally get. Average £20 per head that's and extra £700k, just on the fixture list. We made a bob or two on the Doon Derby though!
