News: Dundee Skipper Kevin Thomson May Face Celtic

Dundee skipper Kevin Thomson could be set for a first-team recall.

The 30-year-old has not started a game since August but manager Paul Hartley could hand him a starting spot when Dundee travel to Premiership champions Celtic in a week’s time.

Despite not getting a full 90 minutes under his belt, Thomson has been used off the substitutes bench in the Dark Blues last four games.

During that time, unbeaten Dundee have slowly climbed the table and now find themselves perched nicely in the top six.

However, with a more rearguard action expected at Celtic Park, it could force Paul’s hand to change.

And top of the list of players waiting in the wings is Thomson, who is fighting fit and ready to go, having completed over 70 minutes for the club’s development side on Tuesday evening.

Thomson’s inclusion could well see one of Martin Boyle, Jim McAlister or even Gary Harkins benched.

Elsewhere on the fitness front, Simon Ferry and Luka Tankulic are expected to be close to returning to the first-team fold for the trip to Parkhead in eight days.

Both have been recovering well after a week of intensive training at the club’s Riverside training base.

Ferry has been sidelined with bronchitis and an ankle knock while German front man Tankulic has had a foot problem.

Hmmm... Obviously rated Kevin, but he's never looked comfortable in any of the games he's come back on as a sub... IS it possible the team have moved beyond him??

And Tank "has HAD a foot problem".... He's still got it from what we've seen so far!

The games he has come on, Kevin has gave away too many passes to the opposition. Hopefully he is just rusty and needs a few games down him before he's back to his best. 

Does anyone know if he has took part in any reserve matches?
