He is a decent guy at heart really tbh.

Knew him for a few years. Just gets a bit over excited and involved in following his club.

No doubt people will moan about my opinion of him

Couldna care if he's a decent guy at heart. He's a halfwit that's getting the club and oor fans in bother. People who go to the games with him need to have a word in his skull.

not condoning his first brush with the courts

But a 300 quid fine for running onto the track to celebrate a goal??

From the linked article

In 2013, he escaped jail and a Football Banning Order (FBO) despite being part of a gang which had a mass brawl with Hamilton fans at a retail park next to the Accies’ New Douglas Park on December 3 2011. The two gangs of up to 30 casuals fought each other and even spat at disgusted onlookers, while Gilchrist’s mates made what appeared to be Nazi salutes.

He had previous, so it was 300 bangers for incursion onto the track after his involvement in a mass brawl in Hamilton. Probably paid it up at a fiver a week.

The paying it up of a fiver a week is irrelevant.....

Surley the banning orders were brought in to deal with real football hooligans...

As an aside, some of the wording in the Tele really isn't what you would expect from a newspaper. "Gilchrist's mates" sounds like something you would put of Facebook, not in a written report. Surprised they didn't bring out their favourite of "Rammy" as well. Going to the dogs is DC's
