Greg Stewart has been nominated for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year award.

Other nominees for the accolade are Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen and Adam Rooney of Aberdeen.

The Dundee striker has had a dream season in the top tier of Scottish football since joining from Cowdenbeath last summer.

The 25-year-old, who is also playing his first season as a professional, has bagged 15 goals so far and has been a key man for the Dark Blues.

Stewart signed a contract extension to keep him at Dens Park until 2017 in January, the same month he won the SPFL’s player of the month award.

The winner will be announced on Sunday May 3.

Last year’s winner of the award, in which professionals nominate the player who has impressed them most, was Celtic’s Kris Commons.
