Sadly, if the ref deemed that he went for the ball, it’s the correct decision. Didn’t stop me screaming blue murder at the b*****ding ref though.

Ball was probably 5 yards past him when he made sure he caught McMullan. I’m sure VAR would’ve said red

There used to be a ref supervisor wha attended games and marked the performance of the officials. If it still happens then findings should be made public and if it doesn’t then it should because week after week we watch ridiculous decisions that often are excused because it’s claimed they were unsighted.

Really. You clearly haven't seen the incident. The player was passed him and he brought him down with NO attempt to play the ball.

You’re right, I didn’t see it from my seat in the stand. Disagree if you like FFS just don’t speak sh*t.

I don’t think Taipei was actually meaning he thought it was correct, I thought he was merely implying that if the ref had thought as described then he would be correct in his decision.

Nothing sh*t about it. That's what happened

Saw it from The Coxy. My understanding is the punishment is the penalty and the rule was implemented to prevent the double punishment in having a player sent off.

Unless it's violent conduct or a challenge that could endanger the player, i.e. a straight red offence, it's yellow. From what I saw it was very late but not violent or endangering to McMullan.

However that ref's a known currant bun so that probably helped his decision making.
