Imagine the crowds if we’re mid table championship 😂

Or if the groundshare started before a spade had been put in ground!?

Hoping it’ll all be a positive and some timescales are firmed up.

We need to be making this a big thing really drumming up interest and making sure we sell it well.

Not something we are very good at-or haven’t been

I'm assuming we're at it claiming United wouldn't be seen as a viable option. I think common sense would probably prevail and we'd play at Tannadice if there was an overlap but I think we're at it a bit negotiating and will also want something else to take to fans first (as right now it would be 'We're bulldozing Dens and moving to our arch rivals').

Cant read the article, not paying them! What does it say?

In talks to buy back Dens

Money to be used to part fund Nou Campy

Groundshare at either Gayfield or McDiarmid-the hovel not seen as an option.

Talks/Meetings ongoing

  • Keyes and Nelms have been chatting to Bennett about buying Dens
  • Current lease is until 2036 - needs broken to move on
  • Keyes was over last month and they were hoping to finalise the deal then but not quite there
  • Discussions still rumbling on, both parties said to have a good relationship and have been quite optimistic they will sort it out
  • Should this go through, we will be homeless for a period of time between Keyes and Nelms re-selling and new construction
  • We've ruled out a groundshare at Tannadice and see McDiarmid as ideal temporary option but also would consider smaller Gayfiled

I guess it would depend on how long the groundshare would be proposed for?

Short term you think we'd be at the Dump......but article pretty implicit that it's not an option so who knows

If we're in Premiership Gayfield would be out as needs to be all seated so why even talk about it? It's more lies.

100% we will be playing at Tannadice before we know it and it won't be temporary.

Why would tannadice not be an option? Seems stupid being honest.

It's interesting because the article has a lot of blanks that aren't quite there.

I know we obviously have something in place to resolve with Bennett but I find it very interesting that it's being described as Nelms and Keyes buying the ground to sell on quickly. You would think the simpler process would be a new buyer coming in to Bennett and then we'd agree some sort of exit deal.

It also implies at one point that this would generate new money for the ground. Bennett is maybe a nice guy but you'd think if there was a few hundred thousand to make from a buyer, he'd be on top of it himself!

That's definitely a concern

The all seater rule was ditched in 13/14 when the league bodies were re-merged.

As far as I understand it, when the new standard was introduced, pretty much everyone apart from Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers and maybe one or two others well down the set-up are now OK in theory with a few modifications (i.e. behind the scenes stuff like segregation management, toilets, kiosks, gates etc).

We've not had someone promoted since then with a smaller ground (County were the year before and had to spend shitloads of cash destructing their ground!) but it has been confirmed a few times when teams have been in a title race (Ayr for example) that they'd be OK.
