They could have bought Dens back years ago, sold it and fucked off and made a lot more money than have made in nearly 8 years.

Sell the land at Dens for housing, share Tannadice, sell the land bought for the kiddy on stadium at Camperdown then away.

Same evidence anyone has to say we'll see Dens bought back, temporary sharing at McDiarmid / Gayfield then a shiny new stadium - no solid evidence just a hunch.

The evidence of the intentions of a new stadium are there for all to see. Plans drawn up, community events, protracted discussions about access and egress and these recent reports of progress with buying back the stadium as they have stated from day 1. 

I agree with others who say if the plan was to make a quick buck buy shafting a 100+ year old football club by stealing their home and running then they would've done it long before now. We've all had concerns (pretty much all unfounded) that the Americans were just another fly by night shower of cowboys but the best part of 10 years later they are still here having spent millions on playing squads in that time. I'm also pretty sure what your are suggesting could be challenged legally so I think it's a bonkers suggestion but everyone is entitled to their opinion so fair enough.

Edit to add that I'm in no way saying we will buy back dens and get a new stadium, until we're in it I'll not hold my breath. What I am saying is that there is absolutely no evidence to say that Tim Keyes intends on stealing Dens Park from Dundee Football Club and running back to Texas.

I'll try to dodge the invective to offer an alternative to the traditional Dundee fan apocalyptic trajectory. 

There's always a risk that Keyes could cut and run after selling Dens but it's unlikely the deal would be structured in that manner. I would imagine we're looking at a joint partnership where the same contractor is given a design and build remit and may also even be the purchaser of the land at Dens. Likely ownership of the new stadium would be 51% Keyes Capital (or whatever holding company is set up) and 49% Contractor. That may run for 20 to 30 years until the contractor is paid off and Keyes assumes full ownership of the stadium. 

We won't own the stadium, but we don't own Dens. As long as there's a decent long term lease agreement in place with a new stadium then we're in the same position with regard to safeguarding our long-term position. That would be an acceptable position IMO. For instance, united don't currently own their ground and have absolutely no guarantee that Ogren won't sell it if things go sour. Despite the current plans for a statue of Ogren and Courts.

There is the a possibility of rising costs that become untenable. And an additional factor of exchange rate fluctuation, but that could also work favourably for Keyes Capital in reducing overall cost of the project in real terms.

Let's see what's being proposed first, and how things are to be financed, before we set off  down the Hilltoon on roller skates
