I don't often go on the website, usually work Saturday mornings but went on this morning & was surprised nothing was posted about the game

Read the match thread and apparently the Motherwell commentators were being broadcast on DeeTV too.

I know that Tommy had to step in for Lorraine for a bit but she's back now as far as I'm aware.

Any reason for the standards of stuff like this slipping? More of a middle management issue than a blame the board type situation in my opinion. We have Tommy (who generally is excellent - not trying to have a go at him) as Head of Media, do we not? I'd imagine that there's obviously an issue which is perfectly reasonable but would like to know what is going on.

Bottom line should not pay £12.50 to Dundee to watch game to listen to a very biased Motherwell fan slacking Dundee hoping for a comeback absolute joke with no explanation!

Ok, here's a different take on what happened. Tommy handles a range of duties that a whole team would do at other clubs, and he does a bloody good job.

Match days are obviously very busy and he is dependent on a team of volunteers, who have their own lives, families and responsibilities.

Tommy had to wash the kit because it was Lorraine's mother's funeral.

 

He was going to put the preview up on Friday night but where he lives suffered a power cut that lasted till after he left for the game. Tommy's got a very young family. Priorities!

 

Our usual commentators had to call off and so the Motherwell guy was used. He was ok in my opinion. He is a Well fan so he's entitled to be biased.

 

You've got to take account of the club being understaffed and the staff have had to work long hours covering for each other when people go off sick, which has obviously happened a lot recently. Tommy has spent a lot of time as kitman recently. He does all this because he's a Dee. It's not just any old job. So give him and the others a break folks!

No one is really having a go. A simple explanation from the club in their Comms channel, website, would have been fine. The match report was there so a wee para could have been added.

All that was needed was a one liner of...........Due to unforseen circumstances.....

The fans wouldn't have questioned it given the weather we've had over the last few days.

Anyway, condolences to Lorraine, and well done Tommy for stepping in and helping out a workmate and friend.
