Positives

We are quick at dissecting and listing the problems when we don't perform but there have been so many positives from our performances in the last couple of games.

One that I think is important to highlight is the partnerships that have been built up between Kerr/McMullan on the right and Marshall/McCowan on the left.  Solid in defence and causing loads of problems for the opposition going forward.

Plenty positives from the last 2 games. Don’t think you’ll find a front 3 in Scotland that put in more work than Mullen, McMullan and McCowan. The shift they’ve all put in over the last two games is absolutely incredible.

Fontaine showed tonight that he is far from finished and can still be relied upon.

Gone quiet so I feel the need to add a couple of others.

If you take out the County and Celtic games (I know, I know) CA's form has been exceptional.  Starting with the Aberdeen game, he made an experienced, ex scottish international look foolish and he has generally been excellent since.

Ryan Sweeney may not be in the Virgil van Dijk class but he will do for me.  Obviously loving his football and his time here.

Defensively we were good you could see what the clean sheet meant to them at full time. 
Thought the much maligned Cammy Kerr (me included btw) had another strong showing to back up a good performance versus Motherwell. 
Fontaine class, Sweeney assured and Marshall back to something like his best along with the goalie looking very secure. 
 

Standard has been set all about maintaining it  now 
 

Massive positives from last couple of games in particular, long may it continue.

20 shots at goal last night. Can’t remember the last time we had anywhere near that number of attempts.

We just dominated both Motherwell and st johnstone without both Byrne and McGhee.

I look forward to welcoming Byrne back to our midfield which will in turn allow Max to play further forward. Having said that I think he is helping the team enormously just now playing in that more defensive role.

McGhee should now be regarded as cover for the back 4. If he gets an opportunity and plays well enough to retain his place in defence then fair play to him.

The manager must realise now that allowing players to play in their natural position is the way forward.
