It was a complete dereliction of duty by McPake going with that defence in the top league - now borne out by the goals conceded column. FFS we struggled big time last year - how could he even think they were at the required level. Emergency overhaul required.

Today, second half, we looked awful at cross balls, more so as the game went on. The second goal, and third were dreadful to lose. We have a borderline defence, but they need a robust midfield in front of them. We need to strengthen the centre of it with someone who can break play and take us up the park. We ended the game with our only  two playmakers  off the pitch, and  both are at the end of their careers. A centre back and a central midfielder  (not veterans, please) are needed urgently in my opinion. Defend from the middle of the park

Stopping crosses coming in has been an ongoing problem for years. Too often full backs stand off and allow them to come in. It’s killing us at times.

Fontaine should never have been kept on, Sweeney is a bottom 6 level CH with some potential to be better, Cammy Kerr despite going through a wee purple patch, isn't top flight material and neither is Jordan Marshall.

That was our whole back line today. Severely hindering the team.

I got told I was talking bollocks last week. You're spot on about goals against.

I sound like a broken record but pretty much that same defence was leaking goals in the championship.

How the f**k was it therefore considered good enough in the prem?

Yeah he’s been a miss. But the problem comes from an inability to stop crosses. It needs to be addressed.

The defence has been useless for over two years. The stats done lie, it’s black and white how bad we are.
