Agree it's a gamble but I suppose you have to credit him with the level he's experienced coaching at - even if it was just watching and making the teas.

Slightly better CV than McPake!  he was at Celtic in charge of the under 20s, he then left to become assistant manager to the worlds ranked number 1 international team for 3 years!

McPake went from under 18s manager for one season along with Darren O'dea to Dundee fierst team manager.

Assistant at Belgium, one of the best international teams in the world, under Martinez, comes across really well in interviews and a decent player in his day, what’s not to like?

It’s a great appointment and I wish him the best, I’m also very envious. 

Scottish football management could break him though, keep your eye out for the cracks appearing.

 Who knows if he will be any good? Massive gamble.. I know he assisted Martinez at Belgium.. but they have great players.. and international football has no transfer market..so, he's got no experience of signing players and building a team .. of course, saying that, I know our own manager had no experience either before he got the gig. It all bpiuls down to what a lottery it is appointing a manager..
