If we're talking 2021 as a whole instead of the 4 months of this season then it's hard to look past Adam Legzdins. Going from Jack Hamilton to him ensured we finished in the play-offs and he's great at commanding his box. Let's in the odd soft goal, but makes up for it with his willingness to pluck the ball out of the air that prevents so many easy goals that we've seen in the past.

Much harder if it's just this season. McGowan, Mullen, Anderson, McMullan, McCowan & Adam my main candidates. I'd plump for Adam as our results without him show how invaluable to the team he is.

We have some decent players although injuries and consistency makes it difficult to choose a stand out. 

Adam a major miss when not available, Anderson decent although still too many errors, McMullan has great energy and menaces defences however I am going for Luke McCowan.

A great young talent, good attitude, team player, gives 100%, composed, skilful and a credit to team. If there was one player who's contract I would most want to extend, it is his.

SB played a huge role in getting us up and was doing well this season pre injury.   The fact some other clubs are looking at him is another measure of his quality.  And also that tackle against Hearts.

Luke Mccowan for me.

Although Adam staying fit is vital to us staying up.

Has to be Charlie for me. He's transporting Dees back to 1962 with his magic at times.

I went to the Bernabeu a couple of years back and marvelled at the control and passing of guys like Modric. I can appreciate Real Madrid but I can only really care about Dundee, and Charlie provides some truly world class moments in a dark blue jersey.

Got to say though I love McCowan. I find it strange the way he's flying under the radar. He just 24 a couple of weeks back. I think he'll better than Greg Stewart.

Ashcroft scored important goals for us and was immense in the play offs, especially against Killie, Lafferty never got a look in.

Cummings has scored 14 goals this year and was our top scorer this season until he was dropped for Griffiths.

Adam is still a class above when he's fit.

McMullan's workrate and number of assists.

I would love to give it to Ashcroft, but I can't give it to an integral part of the  second worst defence in the Championship last season and worst defence in the Premiership this season.

For the whole of 2021, I would argue McMullan. I think he's one who if we take out of the second half of last season, we drop a few places. The number of assists he gave us in the run in was unreal, we've not had anything close to it at Dundee in our previous times in the second tier.

I would say he's done relatively well stepping up as well. We know his weaknesses etc and not everything has come off for him but I think it's been the case where he's been a live wire most games and a good outlet. He suffered a bit when we were really one dimensional with no winger on the opposite side but do see him a bit better when we've also got McCowan.

I find it interesting the way perceptions change.

Currently in this vote, McMullan is top and Byrne is second.

I remember somebody saying that McMullan was a rubbish signing because he couldn't get in the United team. I also recall Byrne being labelled a dud because he couldn't break into our team in the Championship.

Over the whole year, it has to be McMullan, think he is a good bit ahead of anyone else TBH. He even seems to have perfected the diving header .

Adam has had moments, we aren't the same team without Byrne, McGhee was excellent for a few months, but nobody has the consistency of McMullan for me.

I do like to see McMullan getting appreciation. 

Think he lacks confidence at times but he's a great talent.

The way he humiliated Highland League champions Brora at Dens was something I'll never forget. That was brutal.
