Being a Dee

Do you wish you supported a team that won trophies?

I was working at Parkhead the day Celtic won the title in 1998. I was studying in Chelsea the day they won the title in 2005.

It was interesting to watch the euphoria but I was kind of immune to it. There will only ever be one team that truly matters to me. Not sure if that's how others feel.

Being a Dee it's impossible to imagine supporting even a Celtic or Chelsea so a definite 'no, I don't wish I supported another team' from me.

I sometimes wish I didn't support a football team at all though.

Why do you support Dundee? Is it because you loved watching the team in the 70s and you're clinging onto that memory.

I studied alongside a big Brechin fan in the 90s and that made me realise you're always going to find something to complain about as a football fan so I try to look for positives.

I'm a Dundee fan for the same reason we all are - in the blood and can't be helped.

Nature or nurture is another argument of course.

Used to work with a massive East Fife fan and another time a huge Cove Rangers fan. Neither of them had the big time (well nearly) memories, it's just what they were.
