A team that is leaking goals always has goals that will be the goalkeepers fault because they're exposed to such a massive degree.

Legzdins has been great this season and made the same amount of mistakes as most would expect a keeper at this level to do so IMO.

I don't think he has been that great, He has been a massive upgrade on Jack Hamilton tho.(worst GK I've seen at Dens) I think the united goal in the Derby sums him up.

He's not the best reflex saver in the world and doesn't pull off the unexpected too often. He does, however, dominate his box and comes for absolutely everything that's in his expected territory. There's not many keepers in Scotland that do that anymore.

I'd go as far as saying that whilst he's not near the top keepers in the division such as Gordon or McGregor, he absolutely is one of the best when it comes to marshalling his box and with those types of keepers comes the odd fresh air punch.

Far too often we've had keepers glued to their line. In fact, I think every keeper we've had since Rab (and Bain for his initial breakthrough period - which then changed to glued to his line) have been absolutely terrified of crosses.

Yep, he will concede the odd easy goal, but other than Gordon there's not a single keeper in this division that doesn't have a howler in him.

I think the statto sites had him quite strong o  shot stopping but not definite as don't have subscription and second half info. Would be interesting to read at season end.

My feeling is he was maybe still struggling with a quad issue or whatever and dipped a bit form wise going into new year but just my speculation, I'm still quite confident in him.

I would argue the level of 'keeper in the league this season has been one of the best I remember so I do think the comparisons are a bit harsh on him. The last couple of years we were up had a few in the bottom 6 who were nowhere near the level.

No disrespect to Samson and he obviously made a good career for himself and had a good reflex save and penalty save in him but it was unreal he was a no 1 at the end of his career.

Agree with everything you say. Particularly the quad issue as his kicking for a 4-5 game period was very off and got worse as the game went on.

If he did have a niggle though, maybe that was the time to play our other 'number 1' (as McPake described him when he signed) rather than risking Legzdins.
