Vaguely Interesting Stats

Recommended Posts

Man of the match nominations on this forum so far from league games plus the Motherwell cup game.

Sweeney is top. I think merited. Cammy has been the standout in 3/4 away games. McMullan would be top if his final ball was better. The surprises for me are McCowan's and Byrne's low ranking. The bottom 5 not so surprising.

Note: players with fewer than 5 starts excluded.

Thank you for taking the time out to do this.

Very interesting actually, Sweeney is my player of the year so far..... but it will probably go to Adam.

No problem! I wondered what the stats would say. Sweeney is my player of the year so far too. He has had to play with 3 or 4 CB partners so it paints it in an even better light.

He is one of the Success stories at Dens just now. Gives 100% and always willing to put his body in front of shots.

Sweeney been good this season I thought he started shaky but has been a lot better over past few month.

byrne probably my player of the year even though he’s been injured. He looks like a premier league player to me. Goes unnoticed the work he does and very good footballer.

mcmullan has been good in spells but needs to add more goals and assist to his name.

kerr been pretty consistent most the season for me also.

Very interesting little table, our 'star man' ranks 7th.

One behind the much maligned Liam Fontaine who's done little wrong this season (IMO)

Agree, a little surprising but, as you suggest, Fontaine has had several good games, so on reflection perhaps not. Thought he was excellent against United. The stats someone else produced show that Charlie makes a difference to our results. I think it comes down to his 2 absences this season so he hasn’t fully hit his straps. We can only hope there is a big contribution to come.
