I think everyone on here knows I'm a massive Adam Legzdins fan so I won't go over old ground. Lawlor seems to have superb reflexes and a fair distance on his kick but he's too much of the Jack Hamilton style to be confident with. Just never feel confident with him those past two games despite him doing very well in both at times.

Two calamitous flapjack moments in last two games for Lawlor, but that’s where his similarities end with Hamilton. I find Legzdins much more commanding in the penalty box which in turn generates a bit of confidence; however, I think Lawlor’s reflexes and shot stopping have been extremely good last couple of matches that arguably kept us in both games. Obviously it’s impossible to gauge whether both games would have ended up as wins with Legzdins in goal but I’m relieved that for once in a long time we have two keepers that both play at the required level.

Legzdins is a journeyman goalkeeper, nothing flashy, a bit slow but is steady.

Lawlor looks prone to mistakes but is a better shot stopper.

I feel more confident with Legzdins, he has a better presence than Lawlor and looks to be a more calming influence.

It's good to have a keeper that actually catches the ball rather than tipping it over the bar or punching it into the middle of the park.

Legzdins for me.

Both have good and bad points so far.

But, I get the impression Lawlor is just nervous. He is nervous and still decent.

Legzdins distribution is the worst we have had for about 5 years I feel. Its so slow and laboured. He can't kick from his hands for a quick break. He always wants it on the deck to kick. Even then it usually goes wide.

Could that be due to his knee injury that he's apparently been playing with until he's been rested just now?

Two games and some real horror moments in both. Adams had some too but admittedly based on only two games Adams appear less frequent.

Id hoped to see a more confident display last night, thinking the early mistakes st hearts were nerves. I’m not so sure.

Id like to see more of Lawlor to see if he improves but if I have to choose now it’s Adam for me.

Sorry DD have to disagree with you there a little, IMO Hamiton's kicking was a disaster lucky if he kept 20% on the pitch.

In fairness to Lawlor, there's no reserve league on the go and has been little to no opportunity for match practice between joining in the summer and this month. Even the career third choice keepers in England will be playing at a decent level in the U23 league. I was expecting a few awkward moments for a couple of games tbh.

My feeling is we've went with Lawlor now and should see it through and give him a proper run.

Legzdins has had a couple of injuries he's played through recently, been there before playing through the winter months with one or two problems and it's really not nice and starts to impact every part of your game. He needs a bit of a rest.

Don't agree we're that bad in this department though, standard of keeper in this league is pretty good this season but we're OK.
