Only Dundee would sack a manager on the back of one defeat in six games, including four clean sheets!  I've just read the statement by Nelms and it's a loan of contradictory guff!!!  Why change managers two weeks after the transfer window has shut?  The new manager will now be stuck with McPake's players who were at least giving 100% effort for 'their' gaffer!  Let's hope Nelms knows what he is doing . . .

The timing is shocking but the fact James is gone is not. He did his best but really struggled to put together a balanced team, despite many transfer windows. Tactically the worst manager in the league, maybe over time he will learn, but Dundee's future can't be risked for the sake of one man. He is truly committed so I wish him good luck in whatever he choses to do next.

Apparently St Mirren refused the sheep permission to talk to Goodwin, so he's obviously their preferred option, not keen on Ross myself.

Cormack spoke with Alex Neil a few weeks back but lost out to Sunderland. Goodwin is next choice and rightly so.

Rumours of The White Cafu

Statement said they wanted somebody with more experience, so Irvine doesn't seem likely. As to the timing I suppose with the Celtic game as a free hit, it gives any new manager a game to assess the squad. Also maybe with the lack of signings in January leaves a little in the kitty for a couple of free agents.
