If Dons go for Goodwin, Saints might go for Jack Ross, then where are we?

Do you honestly think Nelms would have punted McPake without a plan?

If it was anyone else but McPake, I think you'd have a point, but Nelms absolutely loved McPake like a son!

ETA: We've just got to hope that plan actually is Jack Ross.

Only Dundee would sack a manager on the back of one defeat in six games, including four clean sheets!  I've just read the statement by Nelms and it's a loan of contradictory guff!!!  Why change managers two weeks after the transfer window has shut?  The new manager will now be stuck with McPake's players who were at least giving 100% effort for 'their' gaffer!  Let's hope Nelms knows what he is doing . . .

One defeat in six is only the last paragraph!

Remember the rest?

All the weird selections and subs.

Dundee FC under Nelms to a tee.

Bulletproof for nearly three years despite hammerings, embarrassments, long losing streaks and we were 9 league games without a win before Tynecastle.

Wins two away from home and has only lost one out the last six in all competetions and he randomly gets sacked on a Wednesday afternoon.

Add in that he got the entire transfer window, his 6th at the club. Meaning we only gave him three league games after that to turn it around?

Never nice to see someone lose their job, but it was a terrible appointment by Nelms, moreso after McCann.

Surely we won't make the same mistake for a third time.

What a football club.

Decision must have been made after that shocker v County. The look of death in McPake's eyes suggested it was the end.

The board possibly decided to find a new man before sacking the current manager to avoid a repeat of the McIntyre debacle.

Appointment had better be top drawer given that we've just won at Hearts.

I find it interesting that McPake hasn't actually been announced as leaving the club anywhere in the statement.

Reading it again, I would say that he’ll not be leaving the club, just his role

With all things DFC the timing is really strange but I think the decision is right. McPake might have been able to get more wins and survive or make the play off place but everyone could see we were not making progress on the park. I'm  not saying a new manager will solve all our problems and we'll not get relegated as there is a lot of work to be done, just that survival or relegation with McPake we were stagnating due to the way he likes to set the team up.

Some mangers I've been glad to see the back of but with McPake I liked the man but really didn't like a lot of the performances he produced, for that reason I'm sad to see him go but glad he/we have been put out of our misery.

I think he arguably deserved to be sacked 3 or 4 times before but to sack him just after the January window closed and right after our best win of the season is staggering really.

Could also just be the old gardening leave thing when terms haven't been sorted out so they have to be careful with language.

Maybe it was his decision to take a step back. Door open for a return to the youths in the summer maybe? He'll probably at least have some time off in between you would think.
