when was the last time you genuinely got excited about a managerial appointment at Dens?  Hartley was the last time I thought we did the right thing.. up and coming, good track record., I really thought he could have built something at Dens.. it worked well for a while..and then, the wheels fell off. Since then every managerial appointment has been confusing and a tad underwhelming..

No matter who it turns out to be, even if I have another WTF moment when it's announced, I'll hope for the best and give them my support. A few people saying if it's such and such or a specific person that'll be it for them.. I'm trying to think who the last straw appointment would be for me. I'm sure there are some.. I'll have a think and get back to you..

Who would be you're worst nightmare of an appointment as manager for DFC?

Tommy Wright

Kevin Thompson or another manager that would have made it pointless punting McPake as they have even less experience than him.

I want Jack Ross or Morten Wieghorst.

I would accept Neil Lennon or Derek Adams for the sheer mentalness of it and the rollercoaster ride it'd bring.

I'd be devastated if we now hired the Fat Grass.

We fired McCann a week after a brilliant away win at Hamilton.

We then hired the deeply unpopular McIntyre/Dodds, with disastrous results.

We fired McPake a week after a brilliant away win at Hearts.

Tommy Wright's appointment and failure feels inevitable. Hope I'm wrong.

I said last time we should go for Wright and nothing has changed. Would St Johnstone be where they are now if he was still there? Not a chance.

He had won 17/26 games at Kilmarnock this season when they sacked him. For a contrast McPake won 19/38 and 15/34 in the two seasons in the first division.

We had Hearts and United as competition.

He has Arbroath.
