(I'm) disappointed, yes. I've obviously just come to the club and I've just started to build a relationship with James, and that's all been taken away.

"Here we are with a new manager, and we just have to get on with things."

Goes on to say that he only found out about McPake being sacked due to Sky Sports News.

Amateurish.

Nelms at his best, not bothering to gather the squad together and break the news, very unprofessional but no surprise. It's these small things that can damage your clubs reputation with players. When someone signs we usually here thm saying"I talked to such and such about the club". Simply things that the club should be getting right.

You missed out the bit where he said he's looking forward to working with the new manager and hearing new ideas and how they see the game.

Time to move on mate. McPake is gone.

I didn't miss anything. It didn't have those quotes in the Daily Record: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/niall-mcginn-discovered-dundee-manager-26271493

Nor is it in the Courier:

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/dundee-fc/3027468/niall-mcginn-james-mcpake-dundee-sacked-mark-mcghee/

Perhaps it does in other media outlets but I wasn't being disingenuous as you seem to imply.

Any links to his full interview?

It's also not 'time to move on' - it's in the news today FFS! It's an entirely relevant thread about the continued amateur running of our club that some of the players find out about their manager being sacked on the TV.

Team were on a day off.

Sacked and then squad Brought in on their day day and informed and introduced to new manager.

But don't let that get in the way of a goof argument.

It's been widely reported that McPake took training and was then hauled in after doing a full session, no?

Surely Nelms could have contacted Charlie Adam as captain and told to tell the squad and then brought in for the next day as eventually planned?

Maybe they were waiting on the confirmation of new manager?

So players were working then finished before mcpake was sacked? So was that not a good business decision having them train without distraction all day them go home rather than say first thing and have them all whispering all day.

So the announcement has been made to the public and the players still don't know and only find out by watching on TV and you're painting that as 'good business'?

Dave Mackay should have took training since he's been kept on and shouldn't have done McPake the disservice of letting him do another full shift preparing the players whilst the board waited for him to finish his day to bullet him.

If it was done right, the only time McPake would have been at the training pitches was to say his goodbyes.
