St Mirren will have a new gaffer in the dug out at Dens tomorrow night and he has widely been acknowledged as a very good appointment. Funnily enough, he has a worse win percentage than McGhee, albeit a much shorter career to date. Will be interesting to see who finishes the season stronger.

I hope that St Mirren of the polar opposite of the manage bounce and this new appointment doesn't help them. Especially tomorrow night!.

Not sure why he's being lauded as such a great appointment. Morecambe are 21st place in league one and he's lost 20 games out of 40 with them.

He’s a f**cking numpty

In fairness this is the first season that Morecambe have ever been as high in the EFL pyramid and they're by far the smallest club in League 1. It was generally recognised that it would be a challenge for them to stay up and I'd imagine that Robinson's remit with them was to give them a puncher's chance of staying up - they're currently 2 points off safety.

Prior to Derek Adams getting them promoted via the play-off last season their recent league finishes were:

League 2
19/20 - 22nd of 24
18/19 - 18th of 24
17/18 - 22nd of 24
16/17 - 18th of 24
15/16 - 11th of 24

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Morecambe_F.C._seasons

Oldham were/are a basket case who have had 12 managers/caretakers since Robinson left in 2017 and he started that season with only 3 contracted first team players.

Basically Robinson's being viewed as a good appointment based on his time at Motherwell - 2 cup finals, comfortable mid-table finishes, a 3rd place and European qualification along with generating £6m+ in player sales.

Did he not 'own us' when manager of Motherwell?? 🤔

Pretty sure the only game he lost was the 3-2 win at Fir Park in McCann's first game.

I think his record with Motherwell against Dundee in all competitions was Played 11 Won 9 Drawn 1 Lost 1.

Different players, different manager, now against a manager with a bit more tactical, unlike previous and lets not forget he was McGee’s Beeaach previously. “He Knows His Place”😂

Noting from above he's described as ... "a very good appointment"

Think tho, this mainly based on St, Mirren's view of their new Boss.

I'll wait for BBC interview to see if fans are over or under-whelmed.

Although, I'm pretty sure, neither description, will be used again :lol2:
