46 Years

Recommended Posts

It's took 46 years but to ight my pilot light finally went out

Enough is enough for me

Club is miles off anywhere acceptable us as paying fans deserve

Going to dens is a massive chore

Sad thing is when that goal went in i didn't care

Cant justify time and more money for a team that obv wants to be nowhere dens park right now

One man to blame but who cares as the gers and there monies are in town next 2 weeks

Sad to say I won't be back and esp in the championship

They way we're being ran by nelms we will either go bust or do a Dunfermline next season

Thanks for the memories Dundee good and bad but I'm done

Please reconsider Broony. Your amazing loyalty is massively appreciated. I know you deserve so much better but we'll experience the highs of being a Dee again.

I've been so despondent I've stopped caring the last few weeks but we can't let Nelms destroy decades of passion for this club.

What a state we are in, does JN appreciate how bad things really are ? If he’s thinking a narrow defeat, a crowd of over 5000 in midweek, one point short of play off position and that’s it he really needs to think again.
Posts like these from long standing / lifelong fans really say it all not least because they are coming from the ever dwindling band of those still going. I really do wonder what those close to him say, if it’s anything other than the sentiments and alarm within such posts they are doing him, themselves and the club no favours.

It might be easier to take if we weren't yet again reduced to playing for a play off place by January.

That's 4 seasons in a row it's happened. Twice in the Championship and twice in the Premier.

The 2 seasons before that we only just narrowly avoided the playoffs.

Nelms is the constant in it all. He's no use at his job.

I really enjoy reading your views on things, you also seem to be relatively close to the goings on at Dens

Is there any inclination that JN will take any criticism onboard and get himself some help in?

Whilst it was very much welcomed to hear JN's responses to the SLO's questions it layed bare what we should expect for the next few years:

An already unacceptable physical environment that will continue to decline.

A period of homelessness.

Couple that with the a squad that needs mass overhaul, funded by a reduced (Championship budget) and the need for yet another management team selected by JN & GS.

We have a rapidly declining product and rapidly declining environment to consume it in.

In any other sector the customers wouldve stopped going a long time ago, football supporters are resilent but even we have our breaking point and for many its past or precariously close.

Been trying to understand the suggestion by JN that we may need to consider a period of ground sharing. Why would this be a realistic expectation if FPS/DFC buy Dens ? It would only become a reality obviously if they sold it on before any new stadium was complete. If that was done for financial gain they would have to factor additional rental costs and a potential significant reduction in home attendances. The new stadium has not even managed planning permission yet, I found it a strange outlook to have at this stage. Buy Dens and vacating it early surely not part of the ‘plan’ ???? Hope life is treating you well in your home Buddy.

Scott, to get an understanding of what is going on in the head of John Nelms/FPS I suggest you would need to ask him whilst he was wired up to a lie detector, and even then you might not get an answer.

1. Cashflow. I seem to remember that costs for the new development were around £40-45m when the new stadium and associated development was first proposed a few years. Build costs will have risen substantially since then.

2. It would not surprise me if the redevelopment of Dens Park ends up being a planning condition of the Camperdown development so that both are developed at the same time. I do know that the Council are keen not to let an unused Dens remain and get even more run down.

They appear to think they can buy back Dens and start to develop before our new "home" is ready for occupation. (It would take years and years to buy it, get necessary permissions, start to develop, generate income...pie in the sky) I guess they then plan to use any finance raised from the development of Dens to invest in the new ground.

New home is great but nights like last night still hurt every bit as much!
