James McPake admits he was stunned and devastated by his Dundee sacking.

The article states, "That day it was just a sit-down with John Nelms who said they were going in a different direction".

Seems Nelms wasn't being totally up front with him, they are still going in the same bl**dy direction.

If that is the best Nelms could come up with it just shows how out of touch he is.

No way he was 'stunned and devastated', he knew his coat peg was extremely shoogly and if he didn't he's thick as f**k.

Maybe it was more to do with timing. Nobody would have been stunned after we got humped by County or after any of the other multiple humiliations we suffered since McPake took over. I must admit, I was stunned when it did happen.

He had a brilliant relationship with Nelms and didn't see it coming after 2 wins and after the January window. Don't think it's that big a revelation tbh.

He is out of touch but the whole shambles has shown Nelms up as more sneaky and cowardly IMO. Even today, his lack of attendance is further evidence of his spineless character.

Proper process would have seen McPake sacked before the January window and it wouldn't have came out the blue to McPake either - there'd have been discussions about how he wasn't hitting the required KPIs set out well in advance of the season.
