Would Staying Up Mean Problems Are Ignored?

Recommended Posts

Like any Dundee fan, I am absolutely desperate to stay up but wondered would this just see the issues not being fixed and  Nelms feeling placated for decisions made so nothing improves. Would we also then be stuck with McGhee and majority of the current squad and have to endure further misery!

I would love to think if we somehow stayed up, we would heed the warning and rip it up and start again with a improved approach with a decent manager appointed but with Nelms could see us just limping to next crisis!!

Under the continued "leadership" of John Nelms, it's sad to say, I'm not so sure it will make much difference whether we stay up, or go down...

When we were initially promoted to the Premiership a few seasons back, I thought at the time ...That finally we had taken our first step, of building the foundation/springboard, towards reasserting ourselves once more...As the Number One City Club/TeaM.   (Those wonderful memories of the distant past)

However, JN's obsession it seemed, continued to be on his ambitious dream; Of His New Campie Compex. Which was going to bring, so much financial rewards to (specifically) DFC. And, the Great City of Dundee (in general)

The final blow for me at this time, was his ill-thought-through comment (On TV) that this "Campie Project + Football Stadium" would definitely be completed...Regardless of What Division DFC found themselves in !!!

Some time has passed since then. But his comment at that time still shocks, haunts & hurts me  :tears:

If we stay up it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Nelms just kept McGhee on and we just stumble into next season and end up sacking him next year.
Who’d have thought staying up could have a down side?

If. That's what will happen.

He should sack him pre the New Year window, but will end up next year after the window 🙄

If we were to stay up I'd take the downside.

Put another way, if it's a choice between going down and McGhee gone or staying up and McGhee staying I'd go for the latter.
