How About an Open Meeting?

I really did think I detected a sea of change in attitude, direction and approach coming our way, I now have my doubts. I felt progress would be driven by ordinary supporters and fans groups and that the powers to be would decide it was best for everyone to grasp the moment and run with it together. I’m beginning to think we’ve not only lost any momentum we had but also any pride or self respect. In the short term if JN is going to keep the same line and gamble purely on Premiership survival then the stakes just got higher. To find out what he thinks, what his intentions are and have significant influence we need to keep things moving. There is a meeting this week re the Camperdown Project, hopefully there will be some output that tells us more about what FPS/JN think that means for our football club. Good luck to Our SLO, DSA and D4L, I do hope they have been in touch with each other considering their options and next steps in advance just as you have Mucker.

Aye because JNs answers to the questions were not too different from what was published before in the media. Only new news was the Wi-fi!

This 16 March meeting hopefully takes stadium news forward otherwise all we are looking at is Championship football, smaller crowds, less revenue and more apathy with potentially a manger with little time to build a team. Oh and maybe being homeless. Happy days.

Those with a tie in the door, SLO, Dee4Life and DSA are hopefully galvanising and pushing that door wider but in a reconciliatory way that brings positive engagement with our custodians.

Could we arrange an open meeting chaired by the SLO, Dee4life and Dsa to raise issues and possible solutions to some issues?

Don’t see JN agreeing to that. He is not one for making himself publicly available.
Imo it’s better to keep a small group of JN plus 3-4 fan reps. Much more likely to get movement that way than Nelms clamming up at an open meeting.

It wouldn't involve JN.

JN mentions two meetings in his chat with Burkie - one on Mon 7th March regarding communication with supporters and the current state of the stadium, the second on Wed 16th March re the Camperdown Project. By doing so I think it is fair to expect some kind of output from both. Any failure to do so can only strengthen the belief that he has contempt for the supporters and their representatives. If he really wants to change his approach then this is his opportunity. To have a list of complaints put before him on these subjects and expect people to be fobbed off by being told we are meeting to discuss the subject and leaving it at that would smack of lip service. Time will tell, but this is an opportunity for him to demonstrate that he is listening and does care. Hoping that our representatives are also getting their act together finding common ground and looking to bring the genuine concerns that exist back to the football club in a timely manner because every day that passes is another step closer to Early Bird Fortnight and you wouldn’t want the current climate to exist at a time when the club is trying to sell season tickets. Get it sorted Lads.

In all honesty, I don't expect follow up on absolutely every mention that is going on to the point of expecting a huge amount of follow up on meetings that have been mentioned.

The CEO will have a lot of different things on their plate and I think life is just that things come up in the workplace and priorities do change at times, as long as the timeframe for us not hearing updates on years then if nothing of substance has changed, I don't expect a lot.

For me, a tangible target I would really be expecting after the discussions on here and from the feedback the SLO has gotten from this all is just on style of updates. The SLO should really have a platform in place (i.e. getting space on website to distribute updates and a social media presence is something they should absolutely have in place) and have time in the diary to maybe have a catch up with Nelms over Zoom or whatever with the aim of maybe getting an agreed note out every 3-4 weeks. We see programme 'Letters from the Chairman' etc and I wouldn't imagine a short update would be as much work.

Of course we should expect follow up on last note but I think focus should be on trying to get that consistent back/forth as right now, it's non existent and when it does come, a bit ad hoc. I'm sure if SLO wanted help on his end for the tech stuff, he'd fine it very easily on here.
