I don't want to sound defeatist or anything like that, but if we are to be really honest with ourselves here we are probably more possibly going down at the end of the season. Unless Mark McGhee, the staff and the players pull off a miracle and we win the rest of our games and St Johnstone/Aberdeen lose the rest of theirs, 11th place still looks like a long shot.

If we are relegated this season, do we keep McGhee/Rusk/Mackay on or do we clear out and start fresh? How confident would you be on John Nelms getting the manager position right though?

One thing is for sure, we need to have a fresh look at the squad and build for getting back into the premiership.

One thing is for sure, there are going to be a lot of changes between now and the start of next season.

We can't go with McGhee, more baggage than Luis Vuitton. I've said previously I don't know enough about Rusk to say whether I'd accept him or not but in all honesty if having him means also having McGhee it has to be a no from me.

Mackay will forever be associated with the total disaster of a managerial appointment that was James McPake so he needs to move on for the sake of his own career.

Do I trust Nelms to appoint a decent manager? No I think he'll appoint Rusk and will have McGhee on board in some capacity.

If McGhee is DoF as speculated, and Rusk as manager, they won’t last to Christmas. McGhee is in no way qualified to do that job, it would be embarrassing beyond belief, it’s also believable that we would be so stupid as to do it.

The management team all need to leave at the end of the season, no ifs, no buts, they need replaced with people that the fans can buy into, and get behind.

We’ve just recently had a taste of McGhee upstairs and Rusk in the hot seat on touchline. It didn’t work. I do accept Sunday was a tiny bit better because the guy in charge was actually on touchline. Even with underperforming players or those that are perhaps in a league too high for their abilities good organisation and a plan the players buy into could and should make a better fist of every game. They need do the best they can with the limitations we have - then release this management team at end of season.

I am a little conflicted here. Can we attract a top manager? If the answer is No, then our choices are a young up and coming manager or someone like Hartley or McCall or an ex-player (O'Dea, Adam, Irvine). I think our organization and tactics have been better under McGhee / Rusk, but we just don't have enough premier level players. The probable remit will to get back in the Premiership, it will be tough as I think everyone is assuming St Johnstone  (or us) would win the play-off, no guarantee there, so we could end up with both of us down. I would say if McGhee wins 3 of the seven games left, including beating St Johnstone, he may be worth keeping on (Can't believe I am saying that BTW). The fear is a novice and we stay down for a few years, I believe McGhee could get us up first time with a couple of transfer windows and hopefully some good contacts.

McGhee has not even won a game yet. Think I’d rather take my chances with Nelms somehow finding someone half decent. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut and all that!

When they came in, we were 11th. If we end up relegated, they simply can’t stay.

What if they win a few between now and end of season though and we still go down? I reckon we should wait and see how they get the players to perform between now and end of season. If they can improve this bunch then I would be willing to give them a shot next year with different personnel.

But they’ve actually made us worse. Havent looked like winning one game since they came in.
