What Was That

Recommended Posts

Today? Absolutely miles off it in a must win game. Piss poor from far too many players.

Huge clear out required but I'm not even sure we'll manage as so many poor or aged players  still have contracts.

I hope Keyes (he was there today) was made aware in no uncertain terms by the fans around him about the root cause of all this.

As said above not enough players gave enough effort. The captain played some good passes but was like a man down once we went 2 up top. That dive?.🙈 McMullan has been the player that the DAB's told us we were getting for months now but I didn't expect him to be hooked 5 mins into the 2nd half. Has Danny Mullen signed a PCA with St Johnstone?. Totally anonymous today. The rest were average bar the right & left backs, Sweeney and maybe Anderson.

Aye mate, like someone else has said I think that's him done playing at this level. Same with Gowser.

Complete rebuild required with younger, fitter, hungrier players and a manager who knows how to get the most out of them.

I thought the very same about Mullen. For a must win game he sure looked like he would rather be doing something else.

After all the effort that the fans put in today, the players (Not all of them) really let us down with that performance today.

Expected better, and got what what we deserved.

I thought the fans were as flat as the players yesterday.
it's going to take some time to get an atmosphere back inside Dens.

No, I mean all the effort the fans put in for yesterday, with raising cash for tickets etc.

The team never gave the fans something to sing about more or less after we scored.

Isn't that what supporting is about? Trying to lift the team?

The Main Stand was rocking for the first 25/30 minutes but you could hear some grumbles of discontent start to creep in. The young lads in the Derry did their best but I feel, after all the hassle that they had getting set up, that they're a wee bit too sanitised. (JT is still doing his best to be totally anal regarding what HE believes are safe practices I hear, I'll maybe elaborate on that further in another thread). Couldn't hear the Coxy. I thought the Saintees lot made loads of noise and long before they scored too. Not for the first time an away support out sung the home crowd and moving forward that's maybe something that can be addressed. Our fans have long said that they should be housed in the Shankly if we're to create a better atmosphere and maybe there's something in that. All in all though it was a disappointing day after the big build up and there's not one bit of criticism that should be aimed at any of our fans who managed to make it yesterday. They were let down big time once again after turning out in numbers and they really didn't deserve that.

It's not criticism to say our fans who turned up were very quiet, just an observation.
I heard the Derry kids were not allowed a megaphone, and for me the months and years of fragmented atmosphere show in games like this where clearly St Johnstone are backing their noisy crowd by bunching them together.
