MacIntyre did not think he was any good.

Kamara respected McCann and probably wasn't thrilled by the sudden arrival of a quiet, old school Scottish manager.

McIntyre seemed keen to erase McCann's influence asap. No better way of doing that than to offload McCann's best player.

Kamara was a quality player but it was clear that his head was elsewhere during that period and was better for him to move on.

Had some really shite performances before he was frozen out. Spence starting ahead of him etc. Yikes

The whole team seemed to down tools against Livi, Hearts and Celtic. It was like they were expressing disgust with the club's decision to replace McCann with McIntyre.

I still think we should have persisted with Kamara. Once the window shut I reckon his focus would have returned to keeping us up.

Agreed-but Woods was his replacement.

Ignoring how his time at Dens ended, his touch was magnificent. He didn't play the ball so much as caress it. A bit like Weighorst. Watching players on that level stroke the ball about wearing your team's jersey is something you don't forget.

It amazes me that people still buy into the fantasy that Kamara would play for McCann but was shoved out by McIntyre. From what I understand, only a pre-season/early season injury prevented the move happening in the summer with Kamara subsequently having to go through the motions (barely even half heartedly imo) until the January window. It didn’t matter a jot if it was McCann, McIntyre of Guardiola who was managing Dundee at that January window, from what I was told, Kamara was either leaving or going to ‘do a Novo’ on us. Yes, a committed Kamara would have been influential in our survival prospects. However, an ‘injured’ Kamara wouldn’t have been.
Do people really actually believe that McCann was so respected and influential that a player like Kamara would have preferred to stay at Dens in a relegation battle rather than at least treble their wages and play in champions league at Rangers?

Let's go through the first 11 games of that season.

Game 1: Dundee are by far the better team in Paisley. Moussa misses a penalty to put us ahead and then Hamilton makes a ridiculous error to gift a terrible St Mirren team all three points.

Game 2: We're doing well against Aberdeen at Dens when Kusunga decides to throw his arms up to gift the Sheep a penalty after 75 minutes.

Game 3: One stupid error from Meekings gifts Watt the only goal at McDiarmid.

Game 4: Dee do well in the first-half at home to Motherwell before a laughable Kusunga error on the hour-mark gifts Well the points.

Game 5: A depleted Dundee side lose at Ibrox.

Game 6: Dundee lose at home to Hibs despite a decent goalless first-half.

Game 7: Dundee respond to the massive pressure with a brilliant win at Hamilton.

Game 8: The Dee are unlucky to lose 2-1 to Killie after blatant Jones dive wins pen.

McIntyre replaces McCann.

Game 9: Livi demolish Dundee 4-0 with Dees downing tools.

Game 10: Dundee down tools again and somehow only lose 3-0 at home to Hearts.

Game 11: Dundee down tools again at Dens. Celtic win 5-0 but thankfully they ease up after 48 minutes.

Kamara, left us and we got a pittance, we took a gamble on him, helped resurrect his career and he booted us in the balls first chance he got, he’s no Rab Douglas or Neil McCann so good riddance to him, he doesn’t give a sh:t about us as a club or fans
