Next Season

Recommended Posts

Dunfermline down is a boost to our league winning hopes next season.

Greenock Morton, Cove Rangers, Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers (who seem to be in massive disarray), Hamilton, Ayr United and 2 of St Johnstone, Arbroath, Inverness & Montrose, Airdrie or Queen's Park.

That's shaping up to be the weakest Championship in a long, long time. If we can't absolutely stroll that league next season then we're in long term trouble.

Sack McGhee tonight. Interim manager to the end of the season from within and give Jack Ross time to build his squad. Announce him and say he's not taking over until the summer.

As horrific as it feels right now, this could be turned into a positive.

The important thing is we start the planning now. Not letting McGhee spout nonsense that we can get two 4-0 wins in a row!

Going Down is never a positive mate.. seen more relegations than I care to remember,, gutted that we were so shite and cowardly.

It can easily be turned into one long term if we appoint the right manager. Big if right enough!

It's all down to the clown that is John Nelms now . He's made a complete and utter arse of things for as long as I care to remember but now has a huge chance to redeem himself.  Use the parachute payment to get Ross , listen to him not Strachan and build a team capable of dominating this league.

I live in hope but have serious doubts that this leopard can change his spots

I get what you’re saying, but the championship is full of hungry teams, teams that will want to hump us. No way we would stroll that league.

I’ve said I before and I will say it again, we where relegated before a ball was kicked in anger at the start of the season, Mcpake (and nelms for not sacking him sooner) got us relegated. We got promoted with a poor championship squad ( don’t understand why people on here think we should be keeping most of them for next season, fucking madness) these players should have be moved on before the season started yet Mcpake gave them contracts ( some beyond this season) , we have been piss poor all season, there has been nothing, teams not set up correctly, signing poor players, keeping your top scorer on the bench then letting him go, the list goes on. James Mcpake would have got us relegated sooner if he hadn’t been sacked.. didn’t want McGhee as our manager but what chance did he or any other poor soul who came in to manage that absolute shower of shite. The whole team including the management team need to go, there is not one player I want to keep, they have all proved that they are not good enough to play for our club

Why not? Dundee United, Hearts, Ross County (multiple times), St Mirren, Hibs etc have all managed it in stronger divisions.

I'm well aware that we always make it tough and it's a cutthroat league and finally, that we absolutely hate doing things the easy way, but the right appointment makes that league pretty comfortable with the huge budgetary difference we'll have!

If we get the right manager and players in, then yes we should be able to win the league next season. But, we haven't done get the right manager and players in for a good few seasons now.

John Nelms has to come out big time, both in getting the right manager in and giving him a budget to bring in the right players. Not many fans have the faith that he will get this right yet again.

Don't think that's physically possible tbh.

I'll hold my hands up when I say that I thought we'd do better this season than we have.. I was turned round by the way we breezed through the play offs. I genuinely thought McPake had actually come good..and, after getting us up he deserved a crack at the top division.. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. I was wrong and, to my credit, wanted him gone before the transfer window. If McGhee has any defence it's the fact he couldn't bring any players in...

Neither of them should have been our manager in the first place.

I honestly believe that McPake would have done much better than McGhee, as he tended to get better results second half of the season.

McPake should have been sacked before the transfer window, and McGhee been given the chance to bring in some players. However, this never happened and to me hiring McGhee made things worse overall.

This whole season has been a fuck up of things that never should have happened but did, and will be a template for clubs in the future on how not to do things running a football club.
