To be fair, stats can be misleading. Stats will show that Iniesta has only made 1 assist in the last calendar year (or something ridiculous like that)...I don't think anyone would doubt his contribution to the team based on that stat! Also, an assist could be a shot that deflects off your back side and lands at the feet of your team mate who scores. Don't think they always tell the full story. Based on his overall contribution in the system that Hartley seems to want to play, I just can't see Clarkson giving us anything next season. Maybe if Hartley decided to change to 2 up top again we'd see him scoring goals again and getting more chances.

Wattie, you cant really use Loy, Jacobs, Holt and Meggatt as comparisions as they weren't playing against the same teams/players. Interesting to see Clarksons stats there and also Wighton, 1//1, he ust be quite high in percentage terms against game time. Dissapointed with the midfield to an extent, esp when you take out Stewart and Harkins. Shows that we need to sign good quality for those areas esp out wide.

It was just a wee example of what they might bring to us in terms of our attacking play should they sign. I think the stats show that loy is just as valuable at creating chances as taking them while jacobs with 9 assists in a struggling side looks like he has an eye for a final ball.

I reckon Clarkson would be a bit like Tommy coyne second time round if he were to stay.

Tommy scored about 15 goals for Motherwell then none for us the following season.
