Tired, Weary and Fed Up

Recommended Posts

So that’s relegation to the Championship confirmed, it’s been coming but that’s it done - disappointing but nothing new. Been losing interest for a long time and I’m sure I’m not alone dead keen to see or hear something that restores my belief that it’s all worthwhile.
Following the fortunes of a club relegated from the top flight in Scotland more than any other can at times have its challenges. We’ve also had more false dawns in terms of apparently being about to turn the corner than most and are heading for 50 years without any success. Where we go from here is anybodies guess, the current custodians have failed to deliver much of what they promised. It’s all wearing a bit thin and I was just wondering what others are hoping for in the days and weeks ahead. My own view is that we need much more than a new manager, time will tell.

Before the end of May we'll have a new management team in place, Charlie Adam will have a backroom role within the management team and will be rolled out at season ticket time and whenever there's an appeal to be made to the fans.

We'll release a load of players, sign a couple of premier league players, we'll be linked with other premier league players that might give us hope (Dylan McGeough type player) we'll sign a couple of underperformers from other clubs with the hope they'll do it here (Dom Thomas from Dunfermline type player) then bring in a few from the English lower leagues.

Come the start of the season most of us will be in our usual spot at Dens filled with the usual emotions of fear, dread and that gut wrenching expectation of failure.

A real shake up is needed to lift us . Realistic pricing . Easier ticketing. Build the team around a system rather than signing players then wondering what to do with them . Continue blending in youth . Entertain . Tangible progress on new stadium . Fan engagement . Enjoy our football and win the championship at first ask . Sensible contracts . New management team . Better fitness. More training . GS to either be director of football officially or focus on youths only . Tim Keyes to raise his presence now covid situation hopefully more stable . Encourage supporters group . Enjoy seeing young guys trying to improve atmosphere. Still the original team in the city - still one team in Dundee 🇫🇷✊🏻

A proper managerial appointment will be a start but like you @scottg I want to see more. Some honesty from the man at the top would be a start along with some indication that he accepts he's made errors.

I'd also like to see him admit the new stadium is not happening and to allow proper advisers onside to help with a plan to recover and develop Dens. However I fear he's too far down the road of the lie to go back on that one.

I want a new ethos from the club in terms of signing policy. Sign guys in the 19-26 yo demographic and bring the age of the squad right down. We need pace energy and ambition in the side, not a place where players come for a final pay day.

Totally agree but I think that will happen naturally next season mate. Our starting 11 against Hibs was younger than most people thought. Mcpake is away so hopefully no more signing of mates.

"Tired, Weary and Fed-Up" Scott, just about covers it all for me...

And I think like yourself, my stock level at this time, in the "positive drive, stamina & energy stakes" are at the lowest they have ever been. I have no new inspired suggestions, other than what has already been added above. Maybe it's now more of an age thing as well. But I feel the past six seasons or so has taken it's toll on me & some days I feel I am only playing "lip-service" towards a Club, that has meant so much to me...And the season just ending has really scunnered me...And may well be the final blow, as far as I am concerned !!

At the beginning of this Season, I did feel the "re-newed potential promise of a New Season" But not only did the usual performances & failure to deliver, put me again in a "bad place" it was definitely, the total lack of response, communication, dialogue, reaction, directive each passing week from our esteemed CEO, that I knew was having a wearing effect on my physical/mental state...I am tough enough & experienced enough, to take the worst news (& keep bouncing back)

But like most DFC fans & supporters, I DO like to know what's happening.

JN, What (old or new) genuine, honest ambitious plans in place for DFC?

John Nelms, ( FOR A SHORT PERIOD) appeared to be making a real effort (Reacting to the amount of pressure being put on him) And I thought at last he was making at last a move to finally breahis long period of silence.

He is now back to his usual self...That is, until of course, it is time to Launch the New Special Season Ticket Sales (Accompanied by the usual "hopes & promises")

J. Nelms should know, DFC have a Strong, Loyal Fan Base.

But we need something Real and Achievable to get behind.

So Let's Hear & Let's See, Some Real Action...Do your Job.

I want Georgis son 😂, Weighorst in as coach😂,  tvs in the Coxy fixed, hot water in the bogs, bird shit cleaned of the seats and a pie that’s hot!
But in reality a full and proper recruitment process to appoint the next manager and coaching team, a revamp of the signing policy, the continued inclusion and development of the promising youngsters we have and a positive attitude around the club.

Looking back at that though it’s depressing to think paragraph one has more chance of happening than paragraph two!!🙁🙈
